I'm new to the board and SKS but not to Mil-surp. Former C&R FFL (90's) collected K98k's. I am down to two, one all matching (DOT 1944, Waffen Werke Brunn AG, Brunn) and the other, a shooter (237 1940, Berlin-Lubecker Maschinenfabrik, Lubeck). I purchased my first SKS last month from Bud's and had a blast cleaning it up from all the Cosmolene. I posted about it here last week, a 1969 vintage Arsenal 26 with a unique wood stock apparently replaced/refurbed from the arsenal before going into mothballs. The SKS has as varied a history as The Mauser K98k and look forward to purchasing a few more down the road.
