My Eastern Bloc handguns
« on: October 24, 2024, 01:50:43 PM »
Just a typical Yugo M57 and a CZ-82

In the last year I have contacted Wolf springs, asking them to make new mag spings for the 82. I have contacted both Zastava and MecGar to make mags for the 82's as well because lets face it. These pistols have a huge mag shortage. The aftermarkets marked "CZ" on the floor plate are fake and they are crap and the sword crossed authentic mags are rare and expensive when found.
We need mags for this pistols bad. I only have 2 atm. M57 mags are easy to find and cheap. I had a Tula Nagant revolver in the past and also a Korean military DP51 which you do not see every day but those are gone. I want another Nagant revolver even though the trigger pull on them is the worst, I find them interesting. I notice French MAC 50's are being imported lately and that's also on my want list because its not common in C&R circles. Eventually I am going to do a refurb of this 82 and rectify that common worn off paint we see on these from holster wear. I will probably buy a Durakote kit in satin black. The handgun itself seems like it was shot very little and just sat in a holster. Common for police guns. I really dig the 9x18 round and Priv partizan makes good HP rounds for them. The good thing about Priv is they are making a lot of old rounds and seem to be catering to collectors that shoot. They are even making 7.62 nagant for a lot cheaper than the competition. On the other hand, 7.62x25 never fails to turn heads at a gun range because of their high decibels and the fire it belches. I always get someone looking over and asking "WTF are you shooting?" LOL. I like the M57 a lot better then that non-ergonomic monstrocity called the CZ-52 that I used to have (Won in a contest for free)

One cool fact about CZ-52 mags. Apparently you can cut a notch in the side of them and they will fit a Yugo M57 but you will just have 8rds and not 9. If your on a budget the 52 mags are cheaper. good for some people.

non-ergonomic monstrocity
rofl2 chuckles1   The Cz-52 is a cake walk in ergonomics.

This is about as non-ergonomic as you can get, especially when you throw the 20rd mag in, talk about balance issues.... but boy.... is it a hoot to shoot. It's even more fun when you switch it up, start out with the 22lr upper and then swap to the 32acp. thumb1

With both uppers.

I was  tempted to buy one of those parts kits with barrel and do an 80% receiver build until this damn states criminal governor stopped us from doing so. Lucky you. The parts kits are like $199 with a Us made barrel and 2 mags and the cut receivers are included.

I never held one but I guess that explains why you see a lot of grip mods for these using AR15 grips?

This is a Czechpoint build, and the 22lr upper is from Czechpoint as well, they are very limited production and I waited 2 years for it.

I thought the mag looked longer than what 32acp would be, that was my next question. I bet it is VERY fun to plink with.

I just read this,

"Ukraine 30,150 Pistole vz. 82 were gifted from Czech Republic as part of a military package in response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine."

Well that explains where a ton of the mags went I bet. Thats a lot of pistols. Geeze, Ukraine should give us some for all the tax money we paid them!!!!!
