Nambu Type 14
« on: December 03, 2021, 06:52:52 PM »
Wow, is this a complicated pistol. It was dirty inside and out but I got it apart, cleaned and back together. Every numbered part matches (8 parts, iirc). These are interesting pistols and it's the first handgun in my Japanese collection.

Made at Chuo Kogyo under Nagoya Arsenal supervision, this is the second most common maker of the Type 14. It's chambered in 8x22mm Nambu, a fairly weak round.

I found the trench art ash tray at a local "antique shop" in the Tri-cities. It appears to be made from a (Type 90?) 75mm gun casing, originally manufactured at Nagoya Arsenal.

Nice pistol, Jon.  And yours as well, GM.  Yeah, the ammo can be a bit of a problem, though.

Those are famous last words P32!   I think I remember LC saying something like that after his first Nambu...
