I got this one at a gun show about a year ago. From what I am told, read and see, this is a Last Ditch Radom, not a Type 3 (or 4, depending on the collector). The Type 3/4 did away with the rear safety take down, repositioned the take down slots, used roll pins, and changed to wood grips that had a quarter moon profile. This one looks to be an "OMG, THEY'RE IN THE NEXT BURGE, WE NEED TO USE WHATEVER WE HAVE!!" build. The frame is a blued Type 2/3 (no slot), slide is for a later 2/3 that is parked, no take down safety, roll pins replaced by solids peened in place with lacquer over them, and grips hand checkered, different sized and different pattern. Like all Radoms, she shoots well. These are all suppositions on my part from what sources I can find and having had a 1/2 (Nazi and slotted) and a 3/4 previously. Comments and ideas are welcome. Thanks, Bruce.
