1905 Russian 1895 Nagant Revolver
« on: May 04, 2020, 07:09:51 PM »
Scored this 1905 Russian 1895 Nagant revolver from a fellow member on another forum this evening. Came with holster, cleaning rod, about 380rds of Russian surplus ammo and about 120rds of PPU commercial brass cased 7.62x38r ammo. It is an all numbers matching refurb. I am guessing that it was carried through both world wars.

Nice  thumb1 That's a scarce early one, regardless of refurbishment. Import marked?

Yes, import marked on the right side of the barrel by CAI.

Nice one.  The rare thing is having plenty of ammo.  If you reload for it, I think I've got 50-70 casings I picked up at a range.  Good score.

Thanks for the offer but I do not do any reloading of any calibers anymore.  Matter of fact I sold off all of my reloading equipment years ago.

Be careful! These revolvers tend to multiply like SKS rifles and Mosins. Classic Arms still has the ammo:

It's some hard-hitting stuff, and in the right revolver can be as accurate as a laser. You will enjoy shooting it!

Are the replacement cylinders still around?
There was a guy out here that took one, added the 32ACP cylinder, then threaded the barrel and put a can on it.
Looked kinda weird, but worked well.

I see them for sale occassionally but not very often.  I think they are kind of pricey if I remember correctly.

I just bought a lifetime supply of surplus Soviet 7.62x38R; a large number of loose boxes and one sealed spam can. That should be enough to fire 28-42 rounds per year for the rest of my life  :))
