I'd say they're in the 1500-2000 range currently.Very nice unique specimen. If you're happy about the cost that's cool. I was helping my FFL bud at a show a few years back, and he had an SVT40 for sale for $1450 that wasn't taking any hits. At the show's end, I offered 2 SKSs and 2 Big 5 91/30s for it and he accepted. '41 Tula matching refurb but with an SVT38 mag. I later bought back one SKS for $300. PAX

These have really gone up in the last few years. A quick look at completed auctions on GunBroker shows eight of them that sold for $2036 to $2475 and one rare factory matching example that sold for $3976
Good deal p,I forgot to mention that I got all his spare SVT bits. Mess of stuff, including 2 slings and 300 rounds of X54. The SKS I bought back was an undocumented Nam capture, matching except the bolt carrier. PAX

To P32:Three questions:(1) do you think the trigger guard is factory stamped matching? (not stamped during refurb)(2) is there a matching s/n e-penciled on the lower metal ventilator rear end (facing up)?(3) is there a two-digit e-penciled number on front sight base (right side)?Thank you!
Thank you very much! I actually think I can see a two-digit number e-penciled on the right side of front sight base. If you zoom-in your pic, you will see a number looks like '42'.
So, fellas....Who's got the bayonet for one of these?
I got my original SVT-40 tool today. Works like a charm. I had ordered a repro from Russia a long time ago and it was crap. The pentagonal gas adjustment wrench didn't fit (the pentagonal opening was too small to fit over the gas adjustor), nor did the gas tube removal wrench work (too big of an opening in the wrench).
