Being new to the board and new to sks info in general, im dumbfounded as to how expensive some of these rifles really are.

Ive had several sks over the years, just never really did any research on them. Bought my first one in the mid 80’s for $59 at a local dealer and just never thought they were really worth much. Just knew i loved how they function.

The rare variants get pricey.  Papers with VN bringbacks get pricey.  Excellent condition specimens get pricey.  That's the norm in all collectibles.

SKSs in general don't have the following that say an M1 Garand or M1 Carbine has.  They do have a following however, and there are enough variants out there that collections can be greatly different depending on what exactly the collector chooses to prioritize.   thumb1
