Title: Cowboy w scope
Post by: BMont on July 11, 2020, 08:33:46 AM
Morning... before I mow the lawn I thought I would post a rifle that some may have seen before.  Purchased this rifle from the close out sale from Southern Ohio Gun.  Turned out to be a Navy Arms import with the type 89 mount on it.  Pretty cool... well after finding out exactly what  I had I started the process to find a mount and scope to fit this critter.  After many emails and searching I was able to find one through the graciousness of another member of another board who had "extra".
Its great when a plan comes together.  Thanks for looking!

Yes it does surprisingly... but as you can see... the scope is not centered over the bore line... so the further out in distance you have you use "kentucky windage"  to adjust but after you get used to it...its really not bad.

I believe this one was pulled when Navy arms sold it and it was later sold off to Southern Ohio as the mount would initially hit the wood at the back so I inlet the wood across the bottom and wa laa.  Slides right on.

Nice Navy. Was the stock already notched under the rail when you got it?The spring clip appears to be a type 4 rail.

Sorry for the looooong delay to the question.  It was partially cut so the scope would not slide on.  I shaved off about 3/8 of an inch to make it fit.
