Yeah, that was a nice one. Somebody knew it and just hit the BIN. It appears that the marine filling out the DD-603 read the SN off of the stock instead of the receiver.

I've got a kit similar to it that I got at Liberty Tree Collectors. I always assumed it was an AK kit as they have *very* different covers than your typical SKS kit with the two 'ears'. I'll dig it out and post up some photos when I get a chance.

I was kind of thinking AK too, but it seems a bit different than what I have seen before.
How many types of guns used this style of kit?
I was also under the impression that Yugo 59/66s were supposed to have the earless kits too, with the brass tools...but rarely do I see earless ones offered as SKS kits, they usually state they are AK kits.
Proper cleaning kits are a little facet that I like to cover when restoring....
