Vacuum seal the outside of the PCV also.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Group buy? Perhaps someone with a modest collection could scoop some out and dole it out to folks with less need than 55 gallons, stuff in the guns and ammo, reseal the drum...dig a hole. :)

I never read this before...but in the aftermath, leftovers could be more useful than for just stinking up the forest.   chuckles1

The portable metal detector; locating buried/hidden metallic stuff for over a century. Something to consider.

In some places around here.... that does nothing but aggravate a person.  chuckles1 The number of musket balls, cannon balls, this and that left over from the Civil War you could probably fill a wheelbarrow up in a few hours. I remember as a kid walking across a fresh tilled field, finding white powdery lumps here and there...clean them up and they were minniball bullets.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

Heckfire! A person could end up with a nice supply of lead for casting ammo & quality melt iron for weapons to beat back the zombies!
(My sizeable stash is in aluminum tubes; buried vertical to the terrain. Everyone in the immediate family has the GPS coordinates and, coded a map with lat/long plots. As a purely experimental thing, we have four 'aerial platforms' with programmed, set-and-fly GPS coordinates take ya right to the sites.
