Well, I fell off the wagon...ended up with a DWM 1916 Artillery Luger.. the LP.08, LP.08 = Lange Pistole (model of) 1908, Lange Pistole equals Long Pistol. This Luger variant was only made from 1914 to 1918, with 1917 production totalling more than all the other years together. The 1916 production is est. 20,000, not the rarest, but, not common. Only the toggle pin is mis-matched, it's numbered, as I understand, the actual 1916 pin would not be numbered, they became numbered in the early 1930s, the grip panels have no serial that I could see, but the wood base magazine is matching as is all other parts and pieces.
The front sight is windage adjustable with the screw, the rear sight is elevation adjustable, as well as slider adjustable for extreme distance. When raising the rear sight with the ladder, the pin that the rear sight pivots on is drilled eccentric, the sight ladder will pivot slightly to the left, as a riflling twist compensation assist at extreme distance.
