Receiver Cover retaining pin pin.
« on: January 31, 2015, 09:18:25 PM »
Hi guys,

Just took my 78 Albanian down for a cleaning.  I think bubba was in there!  The pin in the dust cover retainer/take-down  pin looks like a nail.  It causes the take-down pin to slide out when everything is in ready position.  I have it "fixed" for now but think I will replace it soon!

Pretty sure there are replacements on ebay etc. After taking out the old one, you insert the new and press in the cross pin.  Be sure you pres it in from the right side so the larger end is oriented correctly to the receiver.

Give us a shout if you need any help with the installation.

Thanks L-C.  Are those "keeper" pins usually soft iron or hard iron?  My keeper pin is really soft.

Pretty hard...  its a press fit into the main through-shaft of the latch, and then you trim the opposite side.
