Ethiopian M1 Garand surplus ammo?
« on: November 07, 2018, 04:59:24 PM »
Does anyone have any experience with this ammo?  I'm always looking for decent priced Garand ammo, but the Ethiopian angle is one I'm totally unfamiliar with.

I haven't been able to find any really solid information on anyone firing it. From an International Ammunition Association Forum post, it sounds like the Czech firm Považské Strojarne (aym) set it up for the Ethiopians.

For the price Sam is advertising at the moment, I'd just go with the PPU M1 ammo. The only reason I can see for buying 50 year old surplus of unknown storage provenance is for the en bloc clips, so unless you need those I'd go with fresh modern boxer-primed brass-case ammo.

Yup, that's basically how I was leaning too; I just needed another opinion to push me over the edge.  dance2

I’d bite if it was in the 50-60 cpr range. I have more clips than I need, so that’s just not a big selling point in my case.
