Hello all!
My name is Craig, USAF MSgt retired, originally from Springfield, IL and currently residing in Atlanta suburbs.
I purchased a Russian SKS yrs ago at a gun show for less than $100, but like an idiot, sold it to someone else. I always wanted a Chicomm SKS, so I broke down and ordered one from Classic. I’m still removing cosmo, but it’s a low 11 million, non matching dust cover (stock, trigger group, bolt carrier/bolt are matching) and the gas tube/piston electro pencil four digit numbers are the same, but also do not correspond with rifle serial number. Mine has milled trigger group, and has nice wear on the stock and blueing so that you can tell it was used. The bore/chamber are great! I’m happy with how it looks...nice addition to my surplus collection. I also have an M1 carbine (Underwood) that my Dad gifted me.
I’ll add to the Classic Firearms post some pics as soon as I complete the cleaning and get it reassembled.

Welcome aboard from WA! I worked at Tyndall AFB as a civilian scientist for four years back in the mid 90’s. I always enjoyed the mountains of northern Georgia.
Sounds like you got a good shooter thumb1 Looking forward to seeing it.

Greetings Craig! Welcome to the files. thumb1
Everyone has a regret when it comes to firearms. My particular one was not shelling out the paltry $399 for a VZ2000 (VZ58) a few years ago when Palmetto State Armory had them for sale. I waited and waited, the price went up, the number of mags and other accessories went down and by then I had simpky missed the boat. Now these can't be had at two or three times the price. Oh well, you win some and lose some. dntknw1

Off topic, but I like your Operation Mindcrime avatar! I started listening to them in 84 with the original EP...was a fan up to Empire and lost interest after that. Still a huge fan of their early stuff.
