Beretta M9 Commercial
Ret-Sarge:
A Beretta M9 Commercial (Born 30 May 2024) I ordered finally arrived at my FFL and I did the paperwork and took her home. It was the last of the facsimile weapons I needed to complete my carried weapons display (M9 Beretta, M16 604, M16A2 645, and S&W K38), from my USAF service. When these showed up as in-stock at the dealer, I jumped on it. Hadn't seen any for sale recently, so I didn't snooze on it.
A real Military M9 was not something that was going to happen. Other than a few General Officer weapons, there aren't any on the commercial market, and probably never will be. Sort of like the USAF marked K38s few and far between, expensive, and faked for profit. So now on to my next itch, 1903, Krag Jørgensen, etc to add to my M1917, M1 and build up my US Martial arms.
A few quick shots of her, and the obligatory group shot.
Picture 1 & 2 With her new home, a M12 holster I actually wore down range during early deployments. Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Joint Endeavor (IFOR), Joint Forge (SFOR), Southern Watch.
Picture 3 & 4 Simple side profile shot of her.
Picture 5 Her with my other carried service weapon facsimiles. Left to right an AR as a M16 (604), M9 Commercial, S&W 15-3, and an AR as a M16A2 (645).
Picture 6 & 7 Optional home for her, my Operation Enduring Freedom issued and worn drop leg holster.

Very nice, Mike!
I hope the gov will decide on selling M9s through the CMP after they run out of 1911s, the commercials are essentially identical, so I might get a commercial for myself one day.

I really do wish they would show up for sale, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I honestly believe they'll end up in Captain Crunch. If they did offer them, I'd be hunting for the one I carried during Desert Storm. I still have the AF Form 1297 (Air Force Form, 1297 Temporary Issue Receipt) with the Serial Number on it. Why I still have it, I couldn't tell you and I couldn't make-up a believable excuse for it either.
Guess it would be akin to a WWII vet trying to find his M1 or a Vietnam Vet trying to find his M16. I'd probably win the lottery easier.

I was actually on a Beretta streak myself. Here are the two recent pick ups. One is 84BB - the older relative of M9. PSA has them for $349 and being an addict I had to get one. A quality old school guns for just under 400 when all is done - I thought it was worth it. Advertised as "Excellent" - not true, in my opinion, more like the low end of VG, but I'm still happy. I was actually surprised how good it felt in a hand. The other one (the assassin - model 71) is in my favorite caliber, so I had to get it too :) Now that it is cooler I can actually go and try them out on a range.

The one does look like a baby M9, too damn cool. I need to find one locally for CINC Household to hold and fondle and see if she likes it. Her current go to is a 1991 CZ-83 we brought back from Germany.
