Adopted Another CZ-82

Well my son in law and I went to the local gunshow today and another wayward 1990 made CZ-82 needed adopting. Couldn't resist the temptation and walked away twice and the 3rd time around the show it got adopted by me.

So now in the CZ family there is a.....

1953 CZ-52
1989 CZ-82
1990 CZ-82 Newest one
1991 CZ-83
1991 CZ-83 Currently residing with my FIL

Came with an aftermarket holster which I'll dump for a real holster, and 3 magazines. 2 of them are original magazines. The 3rd one is an aftermarket (Cheap knockoff) one marked mfg CZ.

The confusing part and I'll have to some internet sleuthing to learn more is the magazines. Like I said one is an aftermarket one (Marked mfg CZ and has seams on the side) and is the one on the right in the picture with the 3 magazines in it. The two that are marked with crossed swords are different from one another also. One has a thick floor plate which I haven't seen before and the side of the magazine body on that one is lacking the indent of the lower side of the magazine. If anyone knows anything about the thicker floorplate or absence of the lower indent, please educate me.

Learned that the thicker floorplate is a milled one versus a stamped one. Don't know if it's an early, later floorplate or what, but it's OEM.

Now as to the indents some have them and some don't, haven't figured out if it's an early thing or later thing. But it's also an OEM thing. Noticed that the crossed swords stamp has a circular ghosting around it. Saw the same thing on some of the ones I saw online.

The sleuthing continues.....

Seems the magazine with the missing lower indents and the milled floorplate is an early release magazine. The later ones for whatever reason have the lower indents and the stamped floorplate. Learn something new everyday......!

I'll probably toss the knock off magazine in the miscellaneous gun parts/junk box. They seem to be hit or miss in functionality according to what I've read in the various forums.

True, I guess that is why, I couldn't pass this one up.

Did I need another one? Nope, not really!

But could I just leave it there un-adopted? Of course not!, that would have been irresponsible!

So now I have another one, guess it'll just be more love to spread around with the kids when I kick the bucket down the road.
