1923 M96 Swede
« on: January 29, 2017, 06:30:59 PM »
One I have been sitting on since Nov..  :)  A M96 Swede made in 1923, one of the lower production years, only 4655 made. This was another from a local estate sale I attended in Nov., and it got a few bids, but no one really had interest in it. This one has some slight visual roughness, handling marks, some very light rust flecks and spots, but nothing to really make it terrible... I mean come on, it's Swedish. It cycles smooth, is clean inside, typical wonderful bore, numbers match, and all that good stuff, just needs some TLC. The only flaw I can find and ding it for, is a small crack in the hand guard.. No matter, it's mine now.

It looks like it will clean up really nice with a little work. Nice rifle!

Congrats!  The 1923 numbers represent less than 1% of the total production of M/96s, and one of the last couple of years of production.
