My M59 from Dan's
« on: August 21, 2015, 03:25:36 PM »
I got the notification from UPS this morning that my M59 was held for pickup. I swung by on my lunch break and picked it up.
My first observation is Dan's packaged these much better than any other SKS's I have received from online vendors. It was a real tight fit in the box, and even had added cardboard so the bolt carrier wasn't sticking through the box like I have seen before.

I unwrapped her a took a couple quick pictures to share. The lighting in my garage sucks, so I apologize for that. The stock is a lot darker in person than it appears in the pictures. It has really nice bluing with only a few wear spots here and there. The receiver, bolt, bolt carrier are stenciled matching. The trigger group and receiver cover EP'd matching. The stock appears to be force matched. Gas tube, piston, magazine, receiver cover latch, and butt plate appear to only have part numbers on them. The bore had been cleaned and was nice and shiny, almost appeared chrome lined.

Tough to see with the lighting, but the bolt and bolt carrier are stenciled matching.

I am happy with it, and hope to get it all cleaned up in the next week or so and see how it shoots  tommy1
Until then I will just enjoy the smell of cosmo on my hands for the rest of the afternoon.  :)

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

I like it!  Your leather pouch looks a lot like mine :o  I still do a double take when I see you serial....
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."
Rudyard Kipling  1919
