Storage Question
« on: January 26, 2021, 03:54:52 PM »
Just picked up a couple thou+ PPU 39 soft tip. Eight boxes of 20, still packed in the heavy plastic bag. Original owner got it about three years ago. No idea when it was manufactured.

Q: Should I leave it packed in the plastic bag, or open and put the boxes in new GI ammo cans and toss in a couple of dessicant packs?

My opinion is that I would leave them packed as they are and put them in your ammo cans as is.

So, no worries about bag humidity?

If it is stored in a climate controlled area, no.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

There are going to be two types of people in this world , those without toilet paper , and those with plenty of ammo to protect their toilet paper

Any good quality military ammo will last quit a while.  I have fired .30-06 AP that had been buried (without any protection) for 30+ years.
