A well used early Century Arms import (9 mill)
« on: December 08, 2021, 05:46:22 PM »
Here's an early Century Arms import that's been put through the ringer.  It's a 9 million serial number range and externally all numbers match.  It has the small import mark at the end of the barrel but isn't marked norinco.  I've never taken it down.  It sports one of the world's nastiest slings and the cleaning kit is full of sand.

Not the CAI stamp commonly associated with the Israeli Captured guns from the Middle East, but the overall look amd description suggest that it may in fact be an IC/ME gun.

Nice, my first Chinese SKS was a 10M SN IIRC. One year newer
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

9th year/ 1964 was the transition from Blade to Spike bayonet.

At -46,000 this would be first quarter of the year.

Very cool! The looks, description, serial number range, and import marking all indicate one of the Israeli captured Type 56s. Excellent piece, don’t change a thing.  thumb1

Agree with B.B. and P32, very IC looking gun right there.

As an aside, that's an early stamp.  Not quite as early as the "ST. A. VT" stamps on the barrel, but man, I don't have *anything* like that stamp in my records. They must not have used it very long & transitioned it to the rear of the gun relatively quickly.  Can I use cropped images of it as an entry in the List of Chinese Type 56 Importers thread?

9 mill right in 9 mill range with all the other middle east contract guns.. typical middle east gun wear n tear.. early CAI.ST.ALB.VT stamp.. freaking sand still on the cleaning kit.

Yeah.. if it looks like a duck..

Great find
