Bubba's bubba
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:03:44 PM »
Another plug for Lucky Shot Wood Stocks.I sent Rick the mag well from my Thumbhole Sporter so he could fit it to the original design type buttstock.I got it back today and the barreled action was a nice, snug drop-in fit.My thanks go to @ owenj492 for inspiring me to get it done.I really didn't want to go the synthetic route on this one.The original thumbhole it came with was literally unshootable due to lack of drop and the monte carlo cheek piece pushing my face even further away preventing even a remote chance of any cheekweld whatsoever. If you need a good wood stock for yer SKS I think Rick does really good work.

Hey, glad you like it! Rick O'Brien has a website now, if anyone is interested, he does AK stocks and other firearms also:

https://www.luckyshotwoodstocks.com

I closed my Etsy account, and by request he sent me the website for future business.

I have to admit, that's a nice looking stock. If I ever come across another AK-mag converted SKS with the thumbhole stock, I'd be very inclined to use one of his stock sets.

Man, I bet you were happy to have found that matching handguard before it got tossed out with the box! smack1

That is, by far, the best looking Bubba SKS I have ever seen.

Thanks. It's a little understated.Sometimes less is more.I haven't decided what to do about the rear sling swivel eg. side, bottom or just a stud.I'd like to keep an original commie theme and not go overly tacticool.

That’s exactly why I like it. Just modernized enough but retains the overall classic SKS look. Good job to you, well done.

That stock is absolutely beautiful! I may be stating the obvious, but if you're using an extended mag, wouldn't a side-mounted sling swivel make it easier to carry?

This is the sling I picked up for my SKS. It's the real deal...
