Title: Questions on 7N6 5.45x39 ammo
Post by: firstchoice on October 07, 2021, 07:54:36 AM
I'm looking around for more 5.45 surplus ammo to shoot in my AK-74's.

Does the 7N6 designation actually show on the metal tins? I've seen numerous listings for Russian 7N6 ammo but none of the tins actually say 7N6 on them. Anyone have any hints of what I should look for?

Far as I know, neither Russia or Bulgaria identified 7N6 on their tins.. I have a another open tin of Bulgarian from the same crate as the one below, and it has the 7N6 bullet. Here is a link, that has other links about surplus 5.45.. https://forum.cartridgecollectors.org/t/5-45x39-m74-questions-5n7-vs-7n6-vs-7n6m/11310/15
I don't shoot much of the surplus stuff..I just keep it for ???, I usually use Tula 5.45, it seems maybe a tad hotter than the Wolf or WPA 5.45, maybe it's just me... :)
