Title: Russian 1895 Nagant Revolver
Post by: spongemonkey on July 18, 2017, 01:06:25 PM
Picked up this 1938 Russian 1895 Nagant revolver yesterday with holster and 64rds of PPU ammo.  Has refurb mark and the usual billboard import mark that CAI is famous for.

It is a Russian 1895 model Nagant produced in 1938.  From my understanding, the revolver was first designed/created in 1895 thus designating it the 1895 Nagant and produced for many years following that year.

Nice!  thumb1 I think the M1895 Nagants are really interesting pistols with their cylinder moving forward/gas seal design, the bullets recessed in the casings as a consequence, the 7 round cylinder, the 122 year old (or older) design, and all of the 20th Century conflicts in which they were employed.  You can still find surplus ammo for these and it's apparently considerably hotter (simply at original design specs) than the tame commercial loads.

I owned 2 of these a few years back and like a dummy, I sold them.  Bought this one to complete the trio of 1895 Nagant, Tokarev, and Makarov for my son when he is old enough to own and enjoy them.  Also scored some surplus "hot" ammo for it today.  Yep, definitely going to shoot it and not let it be a closet queen!

Although I have some commercial ammo for it, I decided to get a bit of surplus Russian ammo for it.  Recieved these 3 14rd boxes yesterday.

Still, nice boxes, never seen those before.
My phone is the same, apparently the camera lens rubs on the edge of the cupholder and now takes potato quality images

Going to sell this one as I bought another much earlier dated one.
