Title: Poland military/police P-64
Post by: BaerenGott on January 13, 2019, 11:34:12 AM
I found this little guy last year in a local pawn shop.  The only thing it didn't have was a cleaning rod.  It's chambered for 9x18 Makarov, and it's a party to shoot!  I used to carry it concealed if my clothing made my P229 "obvious".  It's been replaced by a PT-111G2 but I still take it to the range.

Fun little, durable, accurate pistol... lets you know quickly you didn't grip it right with a sometimes not so friendly sting. The P83 Wanad is a little easier to deal with, especially for bigger hands.

P-64 was my first pistol I ever bought, and was my first carry piece as well. They are actually quite accurate despite the rudimentary sights.....

Agree with all. They're a great little pocket pistol (a tad heavy). I usually carry one with me when bicycling...it's been  handy for scaring off dogs (not shooting at them) on a few occasions  :) Good shooters in SA mode, DA is a bit stiff.

I put white out on the front site of mine. Made all the difference as far as seeing down the bbl. Classic had deal of the day holsters for like 5 bucks right before Christmas so I bought a couple.  Yeah hang on when you pull the trigger on one of these little firecrackers ..

Hey they still got holsters if anyone is interested 6.99

GM confession... I've bought 2 of them when Aim Surplus had them, then traded something for a 3rd one..... I did throw the Wolff springs in one, it made firing it a little more tolerable.

Yeah I tried the wolf spring too on my 1967. You probably were the one to mention it.. Solid gun. Some hate them but not me. Like Phos said. Little heavy but I don't ride a bike so im good with it in my desk  chuckles1 chuckles1 chuckles1 chuckles1

Looks like Baerongot got a nice holster. Mine are a little worn and broke in

I toted one back and forth while I was working/living in a really rough part of the state for almost 2 years. Easy to pack in the bag and didn't leave a big lump under my pillow while I slept. :)

Thanks everyone.  I do believe I got a really nice pistol AND holster.  It's nice having that slot for the extra magazine so that I don't have to search through my gun-cabinet for it!

By the way, I never thought to include a photograph of the printing on the inside of the holster.  If anyone can decipher, I'd love to know what it all means!

+1  Did the same for mine. It was way too stiff for the wifey to use in DA, which is why I had bought multiple P64's. Much better now with the Wolffe Springs, although still a bit stiff for wifey.

The P64's a good size for CC, but I also agree that you do want to keep the grip tight for any kind of second shot accuaracy. The finger extension on the magazine helps a little. The Hungarian MFS 9x18mm ammo seems a bit "hot", but it could've been my imagination? I wanted to try some of the PPU but didn't have any at the time.

I got lucky and found the P64 holsters in new condition in both the black and reddish-brown colors. Even the Makarov holsters in some variances work okay with the P64.

I sometimes use an in the belt holster that is designed for my 6 shot, 2" S&W. It works well and is much more comfortable with the P-64 in it than the snubby.
