Title: A VZ-46
Post by: Donp236 on September 01, 2016, 05:46:43 AM
Here is a VZ-46.  It's basically a P-38 produced post war by the Czech Government from parts taken from the Spreewerk Gottau factory (cyq), (Eagle over 88) in 1946.  This gun was later passed on the East German VoPo. The Czech Lion and the East German AB stamps have been peened out.  but you can still see the "E" proof applied by the Czechs.

Note the 46 on the trigger guard

Another neat one Don!  I had no idea there were soe many variations out there.  You certainly know how to sniff them out.  thumb1

Once again, you pull out an interesting model or variant. The VZ-46 is a new one to me. Nice score  8)

Thanks guys the are not too many of those that came over here without import stamps such as this one.  It would be better if the commie stamps were not peened.  I have seen a few that got here with the all the proofs and acceptance stamps intact.

Neat Don. When you get something like this, are you always on the lookout for an upgrade, (like something w/o peened stamps) or do you simply move on to hunt for the next different model/type on your list?

RM, this VZ-46 is just a place holder until I find one with complete stamps without an import stamp. It may take a couple of months to years to find one, you just have to be patient, one will turn up.
