Well I haven't finished up the wood stock yet, but I did get to take the D out and put 160 rounds through it. Everything operated as it should, and I hit everything I aimed at so that was a plus. Shooting it in the plastic stock reinforced how much I do not like this combat exchange stock. Only plus about it was I could fold the stock and put two guns in one hard case.
My only complaint about the D was the lack of the bolt hold open. So unless you count your shots your last pull of the trigger will be a click, oh the mag is empty. You also wont be able to load with stripper clips unless you have 3 hands.
It was a fun day out at a buddies acreage shooting holes in the air.
Here's what we had to work with. (WOW look at all that plastic)
Here are the 3 I took out.
The Marlin XT-22MR I picked up for $100 off a local Facebook gun buy/sell/trade. I put a scope on it I had laying around and after about 10 rounds sighting it in I was pretty impressed with it.
The PSA AR-47, is my first completed AR build. They had the complete upper on sale a while back for $339 and free shipping. I got the stripped lower for $49, and lower build kit for $59 during one of their holiday sales also with free shipping. Picked up a 10, 20 and 30 round C-Products magazine and I'm into this for under $500. Watched a youtube video on how to assemble a AR lower and an hour later (15 mins spent looking for a detent that went flying) I was ready for the range.
I put 220 rounds of steel through it with one failure to eject at round 125. Pretty happy with it, and I am not really an AR fan, but thought I would try one in 7.62x39. So far I like it.
