Greetings From the Hills of Kentucky
« on: March 30, 2020, 09:52:03 PM »
Hey, Chris here. I have been interested in the SKS platform for a while now. Heard stories about how shops would have them for $100 or less but them days are a long gone. Unbeatable reliability is another factor that peaked my interest but I've always tried to look at other rifles Ar-15, Ak-47, AK-74. I've always been drawn to old reliable steel and wood platforms. Not that there are problems with either Ak-47 or Ar-15 just like the history and look of the ole' workhorses(pun intended)and other milsurp. thumb1

Chris you're about 18 years too late for the last of the screaming deals of the golden age (late 80's were even better!), but I'm sure you'll find something nice.

There are a good many of them out there, and though diminishing, a trickle of imports still find their way in every year.  thumb1

Hi Chris.
Welcome from Arizona.
You've found THE place to learn about the SKS. The only BS on this site is the stuff we shovel at each other.

I have quite a bit of family in Metcalfe County.

Welcome from SW Missouri, Chris! Glad you're here!

If you've already acquired an SKS, post it up! We love to see pics of everyone's choice of firearms.

If you haven't acquired one yet, you've come to the right place for motivation and downright "enabling"!  chuckles1
