It's scarey to consider how many walking time bombs there are across the country right now...thousands...maybe more?

How much of this stuff has come across the southern border a while back. And how much is coming through right now since our attention has been diverted away from the border with Mexico?

I preemptively called in sick for the entirety of next week. Wicked case of conjunctivitis and meningitis with a flaring gonorrhea. And the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah is approaching. OK, I'm probably not Jewish, and Rosh Hashanah is probably not approaching, but I'm counting on my superiors not knowing that.

Six degrees of separation:
Dude gets bleeding-sphincter verifiable case of ebola.
Dude goes to grocery store.
Dude infects three customers.
One customer flies home to NC after business trip.
Customer infects two sons.
Son infects unwitting Blicero.
Blicero coughing up lungs.
Blicero dead.

I'll be holed up in the chateau. Coughing up lungs and bleeding out my ass doesn't seem too appealing to me. Call me if you need me! I'll be celebrating Rosh Hashanah in style.

I read that link on the patent of ebola, Has anyone started to search the names of the people and company that were listed on the patent?  We all know how the media "spins" crap, those names could be the ones who isolated the virus--not created it. Point in fact, my step brother was a bacteriologist for the state of Kansas and discovered 2 strains of salmonella when testing samples from the health department  so there are two strains of it  named salmonella sedgewick and salmonella Wichita he named and got credit for ( didn't think of naming them after himself). And a third strain was discovered by one off his assistants, he had to go out to California and testify for a lawsuit against Pay Day candy bars, the strain was found in the dry milk solids used in making the candy bars and now there are precautions to prevent it from happening again.  So a look at the names and exactly what was discovered would be wise--with that information out there so easy to find--how come they haven't made the news--me thinks the media is full of  fart1 fart1--they could be liable for a lot of deaths  :o

It's not hard to do for say a terrorist, send in a crew, each with a sealed dish or a contraption containing this virus, they can pass through the customs and security guards symptom free and no one suspects or knows any different. Then, they get the call to strike, they open the sealed container with the virus strain, inject it, eat it, snort it, what ever and wait. Then they start dispersing it in public areas once the virus is good and going and before external symptoms really start to show.

I'm just sayin, what they are doing ain't working, like quarantine, and so on. They knew years ago this nasty azz bug existed, they had years to cure it or eradicate it, but no, we gotta pay money to study how cattle farts cause the greenhouse effect, we gotta foot the bill for 30,000 dollar toilet seats, pay some unnamable rather useless.fellow.to play golf.   And here this nasty bug is knocking on the door,.ax in hand, here's Johnny.

But I bet 2 dollars to a dounut if some high ranking official  bat1 popped positive, there would be a cure real quick. Oh, look what we found!! He's cured!! Amen, go tellen on the mountain....we all saved.

Biological weapons are deemed a weapon of mass destruction, are they not, and banned from use in conflict in 1972, a world treaty signed by over 170 countries. All these countries sending the sick over here, couldn't this be a violation of this treaty, couldn't it be deemed an act of war??  What's the difference they killed journalist, innocent civilians etc. War is war, they attacked first, sending their sick here, knowing full well.

Nuke'em, cure it and be done.

GM that's a good point about the treaty, I agree with you!

I also think our focus is changed on purpose by the Lame Stream Media 'bass. They are the mouth piece of the Regime IMHO.

Worm I think we can count on them getting the best in protection and medical care, at our expense of course. I believe it's no secret they have well stocked bunkers they can all run to when things go to heck in a hand basket. My question is what will the politicians do when the "nuclear holocaust" is over? They will never survive because they won't have anyone but each other to screw with!

What will they do after being in a bunker after a holocaust,
A: be eaten by survivors resorting to canabilism, natures recycling program, poop turns to poop.
B: be to scared to emerge and die in said bunker, and life flourishes
C: hopefully their wonderful bunker has an unseen flaw, and they reap what they sow.

CONFIRMED EBOLA VICTIM #2 IN DALLAS..... VICTIM WAS IN CONTACT WITH THOMAS (VICTIM #1) AS A HOSPITAL WORKER

All the dallas officials are all over the news stuttering and sweating....They obviously have no clue as to what they are doing, and the facility and staff at the hospital are not competent enough to contain ONE case of this plague!

Dallas Hospital Worker Tests Positive For Ebola In First Person-To-Person Transmission On US Soil | Zero Hedge

And then there was #2. A few hours ago, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, announced that a health care worker who cared for dying Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, has tested positive for the virus after a preliminary test, officials said early Sunday. If confirmed, it would be the first known person-to-person transmission of the disease in the United States. The name of the patients is currently unknown, what is known however, is that the worker was wearing full protective gear when treating Duncan, suggesting - yet again - that there is a transmission mechanism which is not accounted for under conventional protocol.

Question, have any of the health care workers that dealt with Duncan when he first came to the ER tested positive? Remember he was sent home with a 103* fever.

The elections are 3 1/2 weeks away, never let a crisis go to waste. Just a  sayin'.

That's why if you haven't been storing food already it's probably too late (or close to it). Like me, I don't have squat stored for food.

The idea is not to have to go to those populated places. It's called bugging in. If it spreads that bad, there's no way I'm gonna want to go anywhere.

This is what the terrorist want.  Along with the ISIS treat, they want us to be scared of our own shadow.  And it WILL get that way, just like GM says.  Just give it time.

And I'm still not 100% sure that the gov will not try to get martial law involved somehow, "for the common good" of course.

YES.

Health worker 2nd in US to test positive for Ebola - Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/state-health-officials-2nd-ebola-case-texas-102955708.html)

I'm talking about a person working in the ER before it was known that Duncan had ebola. Remember he was let go from the ER after his first visit with a perscription for antibiotics. It has been reported by many news outlets that he had a 103* fever when he was let go. Those health care workers weren't dressed in Hazmat suits. It's been 16 days since his first trip to the ER Shouldn't someone there have been starting to show symptoms? Duncan arrived in the U.S. on September 20, 22 days ago. If it was super contagious wouldn't there be a few more cases?

This ebola scare has been touted by the government and the news media, both of which I don't trust. How many people die from influenza each year in the United States? Why isn't that front page news? How come there's nothing about that in the forum?

Of course we all know that Obama, the Demokrats and his lapdog news media wouldn't do anything fishy or underhanded especially when they are held in such high esteem by everyone right now. HHHMMMNNN? If you believe that I have some land in New Jersey I'd like to sell you.

The idea is not to have to go to those populated places. It's called bugging in. If it spreads that bad, there's no way I'm gonna want to go anywhere.

Or just say screw it all, move or head to a place in western Canada or Alaska, somewhere with population 0, live off the land, eatin mooseburgers and salmon sushi, grow your own bud, just chillin while the rest of the world is dying. Screw that bug in stuff, after the dust settles, then there are rotting decaying bodies, and staying within any sized population increases your odds of exposure, the more that have it, the greater the odds. Plus as an advantage, 99% of metro-inner city folks wouldn't make it in an environment like the north west. Heck, some think an egg is a man made food. A Country Boy Can Survive thumb1

And martial law brings  up an interesting point, imagine the whole population of New York City picking up and trying to evacuate the island, all 8+million people across a few bridges. There would be more dead quicker from the ensuing riot, trampling, etc, than the virus would kill in an equal amount of time.  Boom, right off the bat, who knows, maybe 50% of the population killed through attrition trying to escape. Fear breeds more fear, fear eliminates any and all rational thought, fear, becomes the driving force, it's human nature.  None, zilich, NO amount of Martial law/police action/military action will prevent stupid and extreme mass panic of a massive population in a small confined area. This same thing is likely in the L.A. basin as well.  Now, multiply this mass panic/evacuation effect for Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Well, I don't live in a highly populated area, and some people can't just move to Canada or Alaska on a whim. So what do you do then?

You protect your home & hopefully have enough food to just kick it. Living in the woods is not as easy as it sounds. Ever try camping for more than 5 days at a time? On what you brought on your backs? Ever done it in Winter?

Easier said than done. 99.99% of people wouldn't make it through the Winter just living in the woods.

We have time to prepare now so why not do so?

I live in a rural area, I guess my thought, I'll take my chances trying get up there and try to live up there, rather than submit, hope and pray I prepped enough and/or starve in my own home. And your right, most just cant pick up and move on a whim, but when the the bodies start dropping around you and your stuck, it's too late to look at yourself in the mirror asking yourself, Self, did I make the right decision.  Either way, get busy trying, or get busy dying, it's an individual choice, some will choose correctly, some won't. The ones who don't, know one thing, they should have tried harder.

If (when) any cases turn up in Mexico it won't be a problem for them, the regime will just send them here. The Department of Homeland inSecurity will probably have ambulances waiting at the ports of entry to pick them up!  I would not be at all surprised to find out there are cases going on in Mexico that we are not hearing about.

Brazil announced their first suspected case of Ebola Friday so start watching Mexico and all points south for an even larger exodus to the US. Whatever happened to all the news about the "unescorted children" by the way?! That dropped off quickly.

We have no choice with reference to relocating, but we are in a rural area with fresh water available and enough food, etc to last about 18 months. Mary has been adding to our present medical supplies...respirators, ambu-bags, rubber gloves, etc.

I figure we will take our chances here in the wooded hills.

I've done a lot of reading on the subject but it would be cool if you Danny would chime in!!

Rice, dry beans of almost any kind, but kidney beans seem to be the most popular. Iodized salt (and include other REAL salts such as Pink Himalayan which provide tons of nutrients). Oats, wheat, canned goods (rotate/use per expiration date) and WATER.

Use mylar bags & oxygen absorbers, & store inside /2\ marked 5 gallon buckets. Rice & beans stored sealed correctly can last 25 to 30 years I read.

Also, knowledge!! Read up on how to get certain vitamins & nutrients. Like Vitamin C. Lack of that can lead to scurvy. Boiling spruce and pine trees (NOT Tamarack and some other bushes) into tea can give you a huge amount of Vitamin C. (Read up on which ones are TOXIC before you try). I enjoy me some Spruce tea probably about twice a month. Tastes like you're drinking Pinsol but it grows on you.

That Pink Himalayan Salt also gives a ton of other nutrients. Like 90-somethin IIRC. Very good for you and it isn't fake like other salts. Believe it or not real salt is VERY good for you and you can and should apply liberally to foods.

What do you add?    Someone should make a list of food items that last the longest....

Dry goods...flower, sugar, pasta of all types, rice, dried fruit, coffee, beans, salt & pepper, powdered milk, etc, and seal it in a air tight container (Mylar bags) or storage containers like 5 gal buckets with a good seal. Canned goods we buy by the case, of course no sealing needed.

Some will need to be rotated out after a period of time. Reading labels and using common sense about shelf life will tell you what to use from time to time but replace these items as you use them.

Just keep in mind a "worst case scenario", grid totally down when stocking items and this will help you in your preparations. Think manual (no electric can openers!!). A camping stove with a plentiful supply of the small propane tanks and an alternate way of cooking, like with wood!

Oil lamps, flashlights and of course a large supply of oil and batteries of all types. If you have a small solar panel set you can recharge batteries with this so keep rechargeable in mind when buying batteries.

There are a hundred bases to cover, of course food and water being the most critical. If you do not have a well or pond (water purification is a must) then storage of water will be paramount. Again, this is an item that doesn't lend itself to long time storage so it must be rotated out and replaced often.

I'll work up a list and post it later tonight or tomorrow.

Worm I'll be posting a link among other information that will help determine how much of an item you might need. When we started prepping we simply bought extra items and put those away each time we bought groceries, it adds up fast actually.

The list of items looks overwhelming but Mary and I have done this on retirement income so it doesn't have to break the bank! She has found a lot of items (lamps, batteries. tools, etc) at Flea markets and yard sales.

And this is why I vote, NUKE'EM fart1  The cure is as simple as a push of the button.
Ebola infection rate may rise to 10,000 new cases per week: WHO
Ebola infection rate may rise to 10,000 new cases per week: WHO - The Globe and Mail (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/ebola/article21085134/)

Nuke'em now, 3 months from now. it will read
Ebola infection rate may rise to 100,000 new cases per week: WHO
And then 6months from now:

Extra zeros and decimal places in this instance are bad, very bad!!!!!

Wow.

And what happens when all these illegals get ebola? They wont just go to a hospital & chance deportation, they're gonna try to tough it out & in the mean time infecting hundreds of others.

Put it this way, if .gov didn't want ebola here, IT WOULDN'T BE HERE. This is all about depopulation IMO.

A short while ago they announced that it was determined after testing he does not have Ebola. I guess we'll see in a week or so!

A good post I stole from survivalistboards:

When Doctors refer to a pathogen being airborne, they mean it in a very different way than I think most of us do... They mean it possesses two simple traits. 1. It is very light and can stay suspended in the air, Like DUST but millions of times smaller. And 2. It can survive for long periods of time in that state, or once it lands on something. You can literally catch an Airborne virus by walking into a room where a sick person was an hour before, even if you walk back out without touching anything. Or through the HVAC vents in a building. Breathing infected air is enough.

That's not Ebola... (And hopefully it never will be...)

Ebola is spread through the air via DROPLETS. Meaning a sneeze. A cough. A touch of the nose or mouth and an unwashed hand. etc... A microscopic drop of snot or blood on a table can have thousands and millions of ebola virus in it. The virus can live in that drop for many minutes to a few hours depending on the nature of the fluid and the amount, etc... But will eventually die because its fairly fragile outside the host. Touch that drop, before the virus dies, and you risk getting infected, either through a cut in the skin or a mucous membrane. Compare this to HIV which is neither airborne, nor spread by droplets. You can't get HIV from a cough or a sneeze. You pretty much have to get an "ejection" of body fluids into your body to catch HIV, because simply exposing the virus to air is enough to kill it. And yet 50,000 people get infected with HIV every year.

So what does this all mean for us? Well, it is true many influenza causing viruses are in fact "airborne" in the medical sense. However, research suggests that the vast majority of influenza cases are transmitted via droplets. An uncovered sneeze... An unwashed hand... The same way Ebola is...

Between 5% and 20% of the American population contract influenza every year (despite a vaccine, which we dont yet have for Ebola).

Lets say Ebola runs on the low side of that- 5% That's 17 million infections... And 50-90% of those will be fatal.

20% means 70 million cases... and 40 million+ dead.

On the radio last night and they were talking to an "expert" on Ebola. She said that during the late stages of Ebola a single drop of blood has as many virus particles in it as 50 liters of HIV infected blood contains by way of comparison.

Not sure if that's abnormal or not but that sounds pretty messed up.

Umm.. Something doesnt sound right here.

Even as the authorities worked to confirm that Mr. Spencer was infected with Ebola, it emerged that he traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley and then took a taxi home.

All while they were trying to confirm he was positive? This S.O.B. is a PHYSICIAN. HE KNOWS how this thing spreads. Sounds to me like he knew he was infected, got pissed or had(has) an agenda and went around spreading it.

What was it I said in this thread Login (http://sks-files.com/politics/49/ebola-has-first-case-in-usa/240/20)

Quote
"If" one were to plan it strategically, then "they" should hit a very high dense population, New York City, L.A., San Diego. Dont be playing with the nickel and dime cities, go balls out, big time. Obviously the trials have been done in third world nations, so they know it works as promised. I mean in N.Y.C. one person alone, a simple jaunt through J.F.K. or LaGuardia, a nice long subway ride or two at peak times, then a wonderful ferry ride and a stop at the Statue of Liberty, how many people would be exposed in this one trip. 8.5 millon or so people live there, or roughly the population of the state of Virginia. Then add the figures for travelers exposed at the airport, that then carried it on to O'Hare, Atlanta, and Denver.

This is the kinda sh*t that sends shivers down my spine.

Now that it has happened, that shiver got alot worse. :o  Oh, were prepared, yea, so was Custer at his last stand!!  We're from the government, we're here to help thumb1 rofl2

The powers that be had it all along, they say trial, they probably had it since 1980, if one of them or a prominent person with enough fundage got it, they would have been fine. They pulled it out of a dusty musty basement closet so they wouldn't screw up world travel by shutting down all the flights and cause chaos and panic world wide and to keep the world economy kicking along at it's mundane pace.

Billions in grants, like studying cattle farts adding to the green house effect, studying how rainwater in places effects something on the other side off the planet.

Why test on monkeys, I'm sure enough sick people existed through time, knowing their odds of survival, would have gladly said I'll try a monkey tested vaccine, I'm as good as dead anyway.

IF it mutates, oh boy, game on,  if they would have eradicated it to begin with, the odds of mutation are much less likely.

But, like everything else, it's business, money talks and bullsh*t walks!!!
