Nice Tikka M91/30 round receiver.  thumb1

In contrast to the Soviet M91/30s, where the wartime round receivers are the most common, the round receiver on a Tikka is less common than a "hex".

Thanks guys.  One Ive not shot yet.  This one has the transitional splice stock so after war production?  Seems like it was issued and accepted but I dont know alot of history on these.

It was possibly used and captured in the Continuation War, that ended in Sept '44, then may have been brought back up to snuff to what you have now. The Finn's wasted nothing.

Have you ever checked the year and arsenal on the receiver tang?

Not yet... I have not shot this one yet.  I always break them down before I shoot them.  This one was so nice I didnt want to bugger it up and I have several others that I have not shot yet as well.

Another nice Mosin. Unfortunately, I know how you feel on the "not shot yet" category.

LOL... my wife has asked through the years why I keep buying rifles that I never shoot... and my normal answer that I have more then I need but not more then I want... she should know me by now.

I think every one that shoots has rifles that they always fall back too because they like they way they handle and sometimes old habits are hard to break.  I probably shoot 22's more than anything actually.

I "recoil" at the fact that poor Johnson hasn't been fired rofl2.

Nice Finn, Bmont!!!

Yea that Johnson guy... lol.  Thank you for the nice comment.  She is nice to look at.  I will have to clean her up and take her to the dance this spring.
