I've been looking around at scoping a bubba-ed SKS. I'd like to go soviet style and use something like an AK mount (PU mounts don't have the versatility I'm looking for). Has any one used one of the AK mounts to scope their SKS? If so how'd it work?
There is a low-rise version of the AK mounts that works with an SKS to mount on the receiver. It is still necessary to cut away the stock for fitment. Been a while since I've seen it and all I remember is the brand was Russian and started with a K, Kalinkov I think.
Any regular AK mounts/rails sit so low that you would have to mount it on the lower part of the stock for it to not give you a nose bleed or a sore neck trying to get your line of sight figured out.
