One of the truly awesome things about living in Arizona is our gun laws.
I recently posted about getting a Yugo SKS at a yard sale.
An older guy I know decided to "thin the herd" as he calls it. He sent word out on a local gun board that any of us could show up from 6 to 8AM and get first dibs. After 8, he would put up a sign out front for all to see.
This guy is in his early 70's. He's selling his contractor business and retiring. He started collecting when he came home from Viet Nam. One tour with the Marine Corps as an infantryman.
I rolled in about 7 and was happy to see a few local shooters that I hadn't seen in several years.
Since we're in the handgun forum, I'll keep it on topic. There were 2 Browning Hi Powers, one of which had capture papers from Viet Nam. A Colt Python, a Ruger MKIII rounded out the larger stuff.
What really grabbed my attention was when he mentioned that he had "some older pocket guns" that he was thinking about putting out.
With just a little coaxing, he brought out a tote bin full of them. 22's, 32 S&W's, 38 S&W's, and the occasional 38 Special. I'm not kidding. A tote bin! A couple were in holsters, but most of them were in socks.
Top breaks, single shots, a few lemon squeezers, and swing out cylinders.
Most of them were nickle plated, but there were some blued guns in there, even a painted pistol.
A lot of them showed signs of being carried and fired quite a bit, but about half were stone mint.
For this sale, he didn't bring out the autos, only the revolvers and single shots.
In the fall, the vintage autos come out.
You better believe I'll be there for that one.
Did I mention that I love Arizona?
All this is perfectly legal, no transfers, no paperwork, no infringements.....
