Regular CMP mail order, I'm guessing Navy just transferred all their supplies in Crane to the CMP. Mod 0 - $900, Mod 1 $1650. I'd say Mod 0 is a deal. Many come close to 'correct', plenty of lockbar sights seen.

Most of what Ive seen people got were really nice examples. Whining about CMP mail orders is all too common It's human nature, someone got something sold but then they see someone got a nice mostly original Winchester with lockbars, uncut op rod and beautiful properly cartouched stock and the  begins.

Of course, I kid you about the photos. I actually appreciate a photo spread like that, very nice.

We have tracked examples up to #92 though oddball C36439, C44140, & 50456 are also known to exist.  Highly likely that less than 100 were imported in the US.
