GB listings for July, 2015 - Special
« on: August 08, 2015, 07:01:03 PM »
After striking out last month, we have two of the big three sold this month on GB.  The EG is a once in a lifetime find I suspect.  I don't think we'll ever see one like that again, despite the price tag.

As always, feedback, good or bad, is always appreciated.

Item Link   Description   # Bids   Final Price   Model   Arsenal Condition   Current Condition   RM's Notes

492329352   East German DDR SKS Rifle 60E5347   1   $5,500.00    East German   As-Issued   Excellent   Absolutely unbelievable gun at an unbelievable price.  I wouldn't even know where to begin to price this one or to say whether it's worth $5.5k or not.  Looks like it just came off the line, I wonder what the history behind it truly is?

493073202   Vietnam Bring-Back Type 1963 North Korean SKS   14   $1,975.00    North Korean   Refurbished   Fair   Type 63 with a swapped out bayonet. Didn’t break $2k though unlike many of the recent offerings.  I still think this one was a pretty good buy, even w/o the original bayo.

Wow!  Those are both cool  8) drool2  Way out of my league unless I decide I can live with just a few really rare rifles.

I had to create archive pic folders for each of those examples before GB poofs them.  The Karabiner S is simply stunning.  The guy selling the NK certainly didn't get a "low price" for wont of pictures  :o That one definitely has a lot of character.  Would have been nice if he fully disassembled it.  Kind of like just giving us a teasing peak by taking the receiver cover off and showing us the BCG  :))

Heavy pitting and mismatching numbers be damned, that's a fantastic deal on the Korean.

I have fired this rifle and everything works as it should.

Well thank goodness! I want to drop thousands of dollars on one of the rarest milsurps in existence and be comfortable knowing I can bang away with it at the range.

Heck man, three years ago that would have been the first question you asked: "How did she do at the range??!!"  chuckles1

I agree though that was a heck of a good deal for it.  matching numbers and pristine condition go way out the door when you're talking 300 or so suspected to reside in the US and only a handful of those even recorded.

Wow I forgot about that Letter gun that I eternally and irrevocably ruined with 10 rounds fired. That feels like eons and eras and epochs and generations ago. Damn thing couldn't hit a TV from inside the living room, had a 64# trigger and the League of Crotchety Venerable and Real Collectors were miffed at me for shooting it instead of at the Soviets for making such an adrift lead slinger. Unreal. It's that Tula Star I tell ya. It's deceptive and entrancing. I miss that Russian now that I'm remembering how lights out stone cold gorgeous it was  cry1

I swear one day I'll bump into a $350 Karabiner S labeled as Chinese Norinco at Blitzkrieg Billy Bob's Pawn Shop Chicken Shack & Taxidermy Emporium. That's why I won't splurge on the annual gb offering. I wanted to find a way to hate this month's rifle considering its seemingly fantastic high condition but I failed. I've never seen one that nice.
