Anyone have an idea what these are worth? LGS took in this one last week, asking $850. Unsure of condition/grade and year of manufacture - mid 1920's? Fired a blank .22 short thru it; functions fine. Finding .22 short might be a challenge!

On GunBroker, I see two listed in “completed auctions” for $1250 and $850 but neither sold. $850 seems really high for a mass produced gallery rifle in an obsolete rimfire cartridge but I don’t know this collecting genre...
...Found a sold price of $700 = $840 on liveauctioneers from 4 years ago, so maybe $850 isn’t bad if you’re into this niche of collecting.

Tks for the research. I'm not a Remington collector per se; if he'll come down to $750, I'd buy it.

1921-1923 somewhere in that range. .22 short is not obsolete, I use them pretty often, they are nice and quiet, and its still around and kicking, just not as common as it's bigger brethren 22lr or 22wmr.

I love those gallery 22's. I picked a not as nice Winchester last year and wanted to get one in better shape but the price tags on these things is nuts. I have higher priorities so a nicer example is on back burner. I think that one at $750 would be a nice grab, Matchka.

Right. I checked Ammoseek, plenty of .22 short for sale BUT, it ain't cheap!

Ain't nothing really cheap at the moment, costs almost the same to shoot a 30-30 Winchester as it does a 50bmg.

Here you go: https://www.easthilloutdoors.com/cci-cci-cb-22-short-lead-round-nose-710-fps-29-gra.html
Says it's in stock.
We used to use a lot of it plinking bottle caps and golf balls at a buddys cabin.
