Yugo M59 SKS
« on: June 09, 2017, 09:59:56 AM »
I have a chance to purchase this Yugo M59 SKS from a friend who is fairly local to me.  Dont have pics of it yet, but this is what he tells me about it:

"I do have a nice m59 yugo sks, not m59/66, it has a leather sling and oiler. Numbers arsenal matching and a mirror bore. C series. It's nice, and has a pretty stock. I'd do $430 if you're interested."

What do you think depending on actual condition, a decent/fair purchase or not?

If it's as good as he describes, then yes it's a fair price.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

I'm partial to the M59s with the Elm stocks.  I love the grain on mine, just a pretty gun:

$430 is not bad at all for a nice one.  Take a borelight and verify the 'mirror bore' claim.  I suspect that's what will make or break this deal.  Sewer pipes or shot out bores shouldn't even be considered as there are plenty of other good ones out there!  thumb1

Whoa, whoa, whoa; just back the truck up!  Teak?  To the best of my knowlege from my readings of GM's info on the Yugos;  Yugos were only fitted with elm or European birch.  You guys got to be jerking our chains, yes or no?

Working on the details of that now since the guy is working a lot of overtime and his schedule is full for right now.  Plus, it is about a 2hr drive one way to pick it up.  May wind up just having him ship it to me if I do decide to get it.

Looks like a very nice example for a fair price.

Wring that sponge out for some gas money, and go get it before it disappears!
