Title: Websites: C&R guns and ammo
Post by: Blicero on September 15, 2014, 04:44:19 PM
Here is a list of places online that I like to surf while looking for ammo or old guns. Feel free to add to the list.

Asterisks next to the name denote places I've not dealt with so I can't vouch for them. Everyone else gets my thumbs up for being a good, honest dealer.

Don't forget about:

http://www.southernohiogun.com
http://www.samcoglobal.com (watch out for shipping price shock!)
http://www.jgsales.com
http://www.copesdistributing.com
http://www.centerfiresystems.com
http://www.e-sarcoinc.com
http://www.gunpartscorp.com (numrich, one of my favorites)

I've bought from all of these, and they always treated me ok (minus the insane shipping charges from Samco)  I'm sure there are a few we've missed.

Numrich is a great place for selection but they kill me on shipping.
One tip for dealing with numrich: Their email notifications suck. Say you need part x but they're out of stock and you sign up for in stock notifications. It's possible for them to get the part but you'll never hear about it, because they can designate any given part with multiple serials/skus/product numbers. So if you're really in need of a part, periodically check the site itself. Don't rely on email on updates. I learned that the hard way.

I purposely left out jgsales too. Never used 'em, but their shipping quotes outright offend me.

apexgunparts.com
buymilsurp.com

are both good for 'surp parts.

Funny you should say that!  Being so close to AZ, their shipping is always better than AIM's is for me.  To be honest, I haven't ordered from them since 2006 or so.

I do know, that they jumped (and I mean JUMPED) on the original CAI import of type 56's a while ago, and had them for sale for almost two years at $499.  They finally got another batch of lower priced IO imported type 56s and were able to lower the price to $299 like everyone else, but those $500 rifles made a complete mockery of them for at least 18 months…..
