Sweet! I love the French rifles and 7.5x54mm is a great round.

I'm missing the eyepieces on my APX L806 scopes.

I'd still like to have one of these at some point.  Just different and....thus cool.

I may have a lead on some from over seas.  The French have been dropping other surplus in the last year out of their inventories.  If I can find it I will let you know.

Thank you I think so too... that era... cold war time frame after ww2 through the 60's was that golden age of full battle rifle semi autos before the ak and ar platforms took off.  They can still be found reasonably through collectors and actually some just got imported from Africa.  These like other things have jumped quite a bit in price and I paid more for the scopes than the rifles

Thanks! I was fortunate enough to pick up a 500 round can of 1975 Gevelot produced ammo at 50cpr delivered from SG Ammo 2 years ago, but I probably should have bought two cans. Harder primers than the PPU, so great for the semiauto MAS rifles with their free-floating firing pins.

My MAS 49/56 and Syrian contract MAS 49 are both well worn examples so I bought a couple of well worn scopes to "match".

How do you clean out the corrosive salts out of that tiny gas tube? Do you just flush it with water?

On the MAS and Hakim, I use a long pipe cleaner.. soapy water and compressed air. Then another with a very light coat of oil afterwards.
