Hoopharted. I respect your opinion.  You know nothing of this rifle when I got it.  It was past the
Point of restoring it to original.  But did you
Take the time to ask that???
I'm going to keep it simple.  If you are going to flame. Keep moving.  I don't mind criticism but I think you went to far.

Just an honest, but strong, opinion.

A bit different from what we're used to here. But we've all got 'em. I think that, sooner or later, we will each have a moment where we crank it up a bit.
I know I'm prone to do it on certain subjects. I try to avoid such conditions, but I'm not always successful.

There is no better way to mount an optic to an SKS via a PU mount and scope or AKM pattern side rail. This is pretty far from the bubba heresy we all know and see on a daily basis. I think this is a very tasteful mod done to a gun most here wouldn't pay more than 300 dollars for. Here is my PU yugo, but unlike yours it is original(ish). I had to reverse a PU mount to fit the base the gun was imported with, and am still looking for an extended rubber but pad the yugo's like to put on their scoped SKS's (or one similar). I think you did a great job!

Looks good there Ted, I like the crates in the shot
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Thanks! I was lucky enough to snag them both at 400 dollars a crate at a local auction here last July before everything ballooned.

I see you were lucky enough to get a case of the x39 on stripper clips and the other case, loose packed in boxes. Do they pack the loose packed in 40rd. boxes, too?

I never could understand the reasoning behind that given everything SKS and AK work in 10s. Militarily speaking anyway

It seems like all of the Yugoslavian surplus ammo, including 7.62x54R, 7.92x57mm and 7.62x39mm (that are not on stripper clips) are packed in 15 round boxes. I suppose they figured you can bust out two boxes of 7.62x39 to charge three stripper clips for one pocket of an ammo pouch, or one standard AK magazine.

There's a Yugo ammo carrier pouch that is made for these 15 round boxes as well. It's the second picture here: https://sites.google.com/site/yugoslavianpeoplesarmyjna/web-gear/ammunition-and-magazine-pouches
