PM md. 63 is modeled after the AKM, PM md. 65 is the underfolder AKM

Albanian..  doh1 banghead1 I saw Model 1963..thats typically a Romanian weapon. Albanian AK's usually have a model number like ASh78-1 or Automatiku Shqiptar tipi 78-1.

There was an Albanian Mosin...I've seen one in person, and I have a bunch of Albanian x54 ammo. Far as I know, Albania really didn't have much in the way of weapons production, before China, Russia kind of supplied them, they used what was left after WWII or another Warsaw pact nation, then China fed them until they made their native SKS and the ASh78-1 AKM .

GM; thanks for a quick response.  Reason I ask, is that I have a Albanian book (see attached) that one drawing shows what appears to be an SKs with detachable magazine.   Any ideas?

Good eye, P32. The gas block/tube is a dead giveaway.  Well, we know where they dumped some.

Closer look at page 17; photo reflects receiver/barrel and bayonet assembly not being a standard SKS.

Would be nice if we could get that translated and reprinted for those of us with a more than passing interest in the SKS.

On the other hand.....I wish you guys would stop posting in the Albanian section! You're gonna get me searching one out.

We’ve known that type 63’s existed in Albania for quite a while now. LC has petitioned various importers to bring in parts kits, but it simply hasn’t happened yet.  The select fire nature of the type 63 makes it a very different beast under import laws than a straight semi-auto type 56.  I think I’m resigned that I’ll never see them come in en masse in my lifetime If ever. Oh well.  dntknw1

OP, very neat book!  How did you happen to come by it?

TEKMIRCO, this link to the thread authored by Loose}{Cannon explains the Type 63 in better detail...now , if I could ever find one...
