Title: How to log non-import marked firearms?
Post by: Cz315 on January 20, 2021, 09:51:16 AM
I just got one where I cannot find any import stamps. Which is great, by the way. What do I write in the Manufacturer/Importer column of the C&R book?

The manufacturer.

Use the original serial number.

And if you are not certain of the *exact* manufacturer, you can always just put in the country of origin and then indicate that it has no import stamp.  Something like this for a Type 56 built at one of the unknown factories:

"China / No Import Stamp"

If you make a good faith effort at entering all the required bound book info specified in 27 CFR §478.125(f) (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=fe3ffe974c9a3d606177f6f2100fbe79&node=se27.3.478_1125&rgn=div8), you should have no issues should the ATF come a knockin' for an audit.
