Score of the day
« on: June 06, 2020, 02:51:32 PM »
Got all my debt paid off and with everything going on I felt I needed to get my "collection" built back up. I was on a regional trader site last night and set up for a meet on an AR this morning. This is what I got.

My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Yeah, I've been playing around with it to see which set up I like best on the AR. This is how I have it set up at present.
I swapped out the OEM HGs for the quadrail the the ACOG for the 552, the A2 grip for the MOE grip, and the A2 stock for the aftermarket A1 LOP stock.
I like the fact that I can co-witness the irons and the 552 with this setup.

That looks like a 16" dissipator carbine setup.

It is actually. And to update, I felt it was too front heavy with the rail so installed the best HG set from the bunch and removed the MBUS and 552 clone to install the ACOG clone. I like it better. I also swapped out the pistol grip to the one I liked the best. I will be adding an A2 carry handle and a sling to finish it.

Nice weapon. Built on an Anderson. Locally made, fairly inexpensive (though with the lockdown prices and availability have changed), and really reliable.  Good score!!

Yeah, even though it's a replica, it works well and is worth $80-$100 by itself. Looking at getting an A2 carry handle and mounting the ACOG onto it for the finished product.
