I was overly clear in the original post, so I'll start over and clarify things into 3 categories.
Let's keep this to things you own, or have owned in the past.
What is your favorite rifle to shoot?
After that, what's your favorite pistol?
Category I: Fun gun. Makes you smile just to look at it. You giggle like a school girl when you pull the trigger.
Category II: Precision. This would cover hunting as well as marksmanship at some distance.
Category III: Survival. Not getting meat, your survival. Things that go bump in the night, home invasion, zombie apocalypse, etc. You can add a shotgun.
For me:
CI rifle: M1 Carbine. I really do find pleasure shooting this little rifle.
CI handgun: Vintage 1911 or Colt 1903 in 32ACP.
CII rifle: Winchester 30-30 or Remmy 700 in 308.
CII handgun: S&W pre-lock 357. I've owned 3 or 4 and they've all shot extremely well for me. A wide range of ammo available makes this a good choice for me.
CIII rifle: AR platform or AKM variant. Ammo is commonly available and will do the trick.
CIII handgun: CZ75B or G17. Hi capacity magazines and very easy to find ammo.
CIII shotgun: Remmy or Mossberg pump 12 gauge. Like a hammer, kinda hard to screw it up.
