Albanian SKS / Trade for Albanian 561
« Last post by Greatguns on April 26, 2024, 06:41:16 PM »
Okay guys, I am looking at working a local deal on what will be my first ever actual Albanian SKS. Not the best condition, but looks decent. The stock has been camo painted, but I can probably fix that (if I have a mind to). Has the bayonet and cleaning rod, but no kit in the butt. Would probably like to find an Albanian kit, sling, and chest rig to go with it.
I am not up on Albanian SKSs and for as many years as I have collected and worked on them, I have never handled, worked on, nor owned an actual Albanian made SKS. This is NOT a prime specimen, but most(if not all) the numbers match and looks to be a complete-able unit.

Anyway, below are some pics and the guy is asking $600 with possible trade fodder in the works. Question is a simple yay or nay as to get it or not along with any thoughts and opinions you may have. Here are the pics I have from the seller.

Prolly a jillion but I meant on the M21 specifically as it's presumed to be a high QA/QC build.

The bayo is upside down on the top rifle. PAX

...and riveted in place which means unless it's a quick detach hook style like on the SKSS's, it's like that forever until that rivet is drilled and replaced.

Nice ones Matchka, they look as good as if they were just imported!  thumb1

Tks! Nailed (pun intended) it on the bayonet. I'm going to leave as it is from the factory. Any ideas on how often this f-up has been seen?

2487 times  :)) PAX

All #'s matching. I got this one from a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant - former owner of Liberty Firearms in Beaumont, CA. He told me that it was one of two that he duffle-bagged to CONUS after his second tour in RVN in 1970. I call it "OG" because it's the FIRST SKS that I owned. Be glad to post more pics if there's any specific areas of interest. The rear sight has the Cyrillic P stamping.

Nice refurbished 1959-60 letter gun before. The bolt without a serial number is definitely a sign of refurbishment as well as the condition of the stock. Nice pickup!  thumb1

I've "punched" the rivet out and reused them. They only need a little flair to stay put until a new one is located. PAX
