SkS45 Serials oin CANADA.
« on: August 09, 2021, 11:10:32 AM »
Did any of the Candian imports get the Latinized translation stamps above the receiver serials?

I've not been able too find any evidence of this practice, but I  curious if it was ever done.

I've never seen or heard of it happening up north.  No import stamps required back in the day (I do not know what is required now).

The only importer I know of that did it was CAI and they only did it until at latest 2002 when the ATF issued a bulletin that *everyone* needed to stop and restamp the entire S/N when dealing with Cyrillic or Greek lettering in the original S/N markings.

A bit late, but no, there has not been any requirement to re-serialize imports or to apply an importer's stamp on rifles coming into Canada. That being said, importers tend to mix and match magazines in order to meet our mag capacity laws, so it's a mixed blessing :C
