Hey Howdy Hey, from Oklahoma!
« on: April 06, 2017, 03:12:36 PM »
I came across your forum while researching my Yugo SKS. Well, I thought it was a Yugo. Turns out it's one of the Bosnian rebuilds. I'm a little bummed its not a historic rifle, but it's still very cool and great fun to shoot. The first of many.

Glad to be here!

Greetings from your neighbor to the west in NM.

Glad to have you here.  Don't sweat the Bosnian rebuild, it's still a Yugo M59/66A1 and they all appear to be in excellent condition!  thumb1

There were some crummy Yugos that arrived into the US in the early 2000s.  The first SKS I bought was a Yugo H block gun back in March 2002.  I don't think there were more than three parts that matched S/N's:  chuckles1

Welcome from WA  :)

I don't think refurbishment of a firearm in its country of origin greatly diminishes its historic value. Sure condition, true matching numbers and originality affect price but it's still a fine Yugoslavian SKS. It seems that most Yugoslavian SKSs have either recognized, or suspected, but not certain, signs of refurbishment.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I've attached a few photos of my SKS. When it comes to firearms, the only thing I like more than shooting them, is shooting photos of them.

Looks to be a G10, so technically a commercial "M59" fabricated from an already built M59/66A1, restocked, rebarelled, scrubbed, and restamped.  They are exceptionally nice rifles.

7.62, did you get it from J&G, AIM, Wideners or on the secondary market?  They all had them at one point in time.

They are beautiful rifles, here's the canned photo AIM used to sell them:

Born a 59/66 always a 59/66, but...  Whatever.

Nice pics too!

I picked it up from my brother. I'm not sure where he got it.
