^^ I agree on the high price, but I am curious what you are seeing as bubba'd? The stock might be refinished, the gun itself looks right.

^^ That's a really nice gun! I don't feel the K-sports wood Hunters' have much collectiblity, but that's still a great price for a really nice gun.

^^ Wow. That poor gun. It's missing everything that makes it a Polytech hunter. Rear sight is gone. Bolt carrier is gone. Ambidextrious trigger assembly is gone. The only thing left is the stock and magazine... and with no better pics, it might not even be a Polytech magazine. Such a shame to see. You will never be able to find those parts and this is a numbered collection gun.

^^ That was my SKS-30. I was in talks with a few people interested. The guy who decided to buy it, is a disabled police officer who was shot in the line of duty. He was very nice. He said this would be his last firearm purchase, and he had a big SKS collection in the past, but never could find one of these he wanted. I went over every detail with him and he decided to buy it. I also gave him the correct sling, oil bottle, and proper Chinese flat back 30 round magazine. He couldn't have been happier when he got the rifle, he said it was absolutely perfect and he loved it. And what was even cooler, his buddy has one that is only 200 units away from his serial. I'm glad it found a happy home. I really did not want to sell it.

There you go.  Once bubba'd, can never be unbubba'd, even for something as minor as the stock being redone (even tastefully).   Same for misplacing the serialized magazine and replacing it with a 30 round duckbill or even an unnumbered original fixed on guns that should have serialized magazines.  Best it can ever be in our "Commercial Chinese Condition" category is refurbished, the as-imported boat sails away forever when bubba "improves" it.

Good eye!  I have trouble teasing things out from single photos, I always focus on the wrong things!

I didn't even notice the seller on that one Sal.  You made a heck of a sale there.  I'm glad both parties are happy with the transaction though!    I'm having a hard time believing the prices of certain things anymore.  It makes me worrythe market has gotten a bit ahead of itself when one variant like an SKS-30 goes north of $1k and another (very similar) variant like a pristine M will go for $550.  Supply and demand I guess, but still!
