Hello from Maryland
« on: April 18, 2017, 07:23:30 PM »
As my handle would indicate, I have been playing the guitar for 49 years. My other hobby is online simulation racing. I run the RB-HC Racing League using NASCAR Racing 2003. I am a veteran, a master electrician, and now that I am disabled have taken up collecting firearms.

After building my own AR-15 last year, and doing trigger work on most of my own firearms, I was asked to remove the cosmoline and do a trigger job on a friend's SKS. Besides the cosmoline, his was pretty rough and required some serious work on the bolt, firing pin, gas tube and piston. Well, it turned out nicely and I was so impressed with the simplicity and toughness of the weapon that I decided I wanted one. I mentioned to my dad that I was looking for one and he said he had one that he never shot and gave it to me. He is a serious AR fan and has built six for himself in several different configurations. He is also a serious reloader.

The SKS he gave me turned out to be one that has the Chinese National Security Forces markings and was nearly new. He got it around 1980 and it had never been fired. He had only shot it a few times and was not a fan because of the heavy trigger pull. Well, I did a trigger job on it and removed all of the creep and it is now has a 6 pound trigger pull with positive sear engagement. I also refinished the stock.

Since money is always tight for me, I am slowly adding to my arsenal each month.

I recently got my C&R license and Maryland Collector's certification, too. I get so excited when a new gun shows up at my door!

Thanks to all who are responsible for this fine forum.

Welcome aboard!   I'm sure you will fit right in.   thumb1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thank you for your service, my brother. I was inducted 44 years ago, today. Brought back a ton of memories. Some good, some bad.
