Makarov Collection
« on: April 22, 2017, 03:13:27 PM »
A few of my Makarovs.  Top 2 are East German, bottom 2 are Bulgarian.  The bottom right Bulgarian is wearing the Fab Defense PM-G grip with the mag release relocated to the thumb area.

I had 1 more East German that I bought but when I recieved it, it had been previously parkarized and I hated how it looked.  I promptly returned it to the seller for a refund.  I also had another Bulgarian Makarov that I sold to a fellow member good friend on another forum who had been wanting one for a long time and because she was down and out on funds, I let her buy it on time just to help her out and make her happy.  And besides even though it was not a dog, it was one that I didnt mind letting go of.  I can tend to be a nice guy, sometimes!   :o   :)

Nice quartet!  thumb1

I do like Makarovs, they're good looking pistols that also shoot well.  I need a Bulgarian, and a Chinese ($$$).

Is your DP block DDR a '63? Most are, and up until now it was thought all were, but I saw a '64 this week on the Broker that was in the DP block.

I am not up on all the classifications and info on all the Makarovs.  My East German DP is a 64 and the BZ is a 62. The Bulgarians are 1990 with both mags matching to the pistol, matching log book, holster, cleaning rod, spare small parts, spare mag and recoil spring, and the one with the Fab Defense grip is 1989 with neither mag matching, a holster, cleaning rod, black import grip, and red star grip.

Very nice Mak family there!!

I also love these little pistolets.  I have only 3, an AP block DDR, a Russian sneak disguised as a German and a Bulgy still slathered in grease I got from SOG's last run (with the factory log).  I do not think the Chinese will be in my future--too $$$ for my ol bones...

Thanks all for the replies!   thumb1
To be honest, up until about a year or so ago, I had no interest in them.  My older son kept after me to get one since he had an interest and liked them but I keep resisting.  Once I got 1, I realized why he liked and had an interest in them.  From that first purchase, I was "hooked"!   ;)

I've got 2 Cz82s, I had 3 but the wifey, she borrowed one...permanently  :o One was a mislisted Cz83, but it was the 82 variant, I took it any way. I have a Bulgarian and 2 Polish P64s and a P83 Wanad rofl I passed up on a Russian IJ70, the gun wasn't the issue, the seller was......really sketchy, somekind of bad juju there.

Working on a FEG... :)  and lusting for a vz.65 or even a vz.61 :))

Addictive little things... thumb1
