Greetings from NM!  Glad to have you here.  thumb1

As GG says, the DP is indeed a '76 build and as you have surmised, Jilin (吉) is the locality stamp assigned to it.  The '91 is most certainly a commercial build generated solely for US import, likely a rebuild of scrubbed hardware from off a previous carbine.

I like the wood on your Yugo, that elm has a nice contrast between the dark and light areas.

I agree the DP is a 1976/21st build year and DP is more or less the arsenal designation. On the '91 it's hard to tell if that is a (91) or simply a 9th year build 1964 Type 56. The import stamping is over where the arsenal stamp would be. Between that and the holes it's very hard to tell. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

Welcome from WA!

Nice collection of SKSs  thumb1 8)

Thanks!

Welcome aboard, also from MO. What neck of the woods you in? I'm in KC area

Also, post pics of the SNs on the DP and the '1991', we can probably help zone in on what exactly they are.  What is the arsenal on the '91?

Thanks! I'm located in Northern MO. Over by Milan.

As for the pics of the '91 There doesn't seem to be any arsenal markings on it. Sadly, both of the DP and the '91 carbines were slightly bubba'd when I bought them. That being said, I love that '91 as it was my first SKS and my entry into collecting these firearms.

The DP doesn't seem to have any arsenal markings either, but, if I'm looking at it correctly from what I've gathered online is that the Chinese characters denote Jilin City.

Unfortunately in California and it’s a pain to ship ammo. Bought local for .80 per so not terrible and I can reload even though that’s all expensive now too.
