5-Teen Trio
« on: October 24, 2017, 01:14:56 PM »
Decided to dig out the other two 5-teen rifles for a trio shoot of all three together.

Remingtons series if these rifles were as follows.

510   light weight single shot
511   light weight box mag
511P light weight box mag with peeps
512   light weight tube feed
513s med barrel sporter box mag with peeps
513T heavy barrel box mag beaver tail target stock with peeps
521T light barrel target stock box mag with peeps.  (Junior Special).

Only the 513 and 521 had the larger 'ball' shaped bolt handle.  The other models had whats called the 'teardrop' bolt handle.  My 511 is sporting a 'ball' shaped handle because I upgraded it by fixing a 513 handle when I restored it recently.

What I have here is 3 of my 4 favorite, all being mag fed versions. The #4 I would like to add to the collection is the tube feed 512.

From top to bottom.

US Property marked 513T
Junior Special 521T (imported from Israel via Sarco)... Was a trainer
And the 511

Definitely nice!  thumb1
When were these guys made LC?  40's, 60's?  Are they still in production or long gone like so many other of the good old warhorses?

Thanks guys...  I really like these and they are REALLY straight shooters !

The 511 Scoremaster was made from 1939 until 1963.  381,267 built
The 521T Junior Special was made from 1947 until 1969.  66,338 built
The 513T Matchmaster was made from 1940 to 1968, but this is a US Property gun which were ordered by the gov in 1940 in the sum of 10,000 units. There was a later smaller contract in the 50s and they have a grooved receiver to accommodate a rimfire scope. 137,302 built consisting of US property, Civilian, and the 's' sporter model.
